How Do We Collect Personal Information?
Personal Information You Provide to Us. We receive and store personal information you enter on when you log in to Kutubi’s Chrome Extension, the Admin Dashboard, or other Services, or in any other way. The types of personal information collected by Kutubi may include your name, e-mail address, login information, and other information that you provide to us. You may choose not to provide us with certain personal information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of some or all of the Services. The personal information you provide is used for such purposes as verifying your login information, responding to your requests for certain information, products and services, customizing the content you see, and communicating with you about new features.
By providing the Services with your email address, you consent to our using the email address to send you Services-related notices, including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail. We may also use your email address to send you other messages, such as newsletters, changes to features of the Services, or special offers. If you do not want to receive such messages, you may withdraw consent by opting out, which you may do by emailing us at email@example.com. You will also have the opportunity to unsubscribe at the bottom of every email that is received. Opting out may prevent you from receiving messages regarding updates, improvements, or offers. Please note that if you do not want to receive legal notices and policies from us via email, those legal notices and policies will still govern your access to and use of the Services, and you are responsible for reviewing such legal notices and policies for changes.
Personal Information Collected Automatically.
When you access or use our Services, we may collect personal information automatically in the following ways:
Chrome Extension. When you use the Chrome Extension, we collect information about the length of user messages on messaging platforms such as Gmail, LinkedIn, and Twitter. If we trigger a text suggestion responsive to a phrase, we collect information about the trigger phrase and about words around that phrase, not exceeding ten words. If we offer text suggestions, we collect information about the suggestions we offered and user interaction with the suggestion, such as whether the user accepted or rejected the suggestion.
Admin Dashboard. When you use the Admin Dashboard, we collect usage information such as pages browsed and user activity.
Slackbot. Users can choose between two modes of the Slackbot: Announcements and Reactive. In Announcement mode, we do not receive user message information. In Reactive mode, we receive user messages on Slack channels to which the Slackbot has been added. These messages are only stored on our server if we offer rephrasing suggestions, in which case we will store usage information such as the phrase which triggered the suggestion and our responsive suggestions.
Interaction and General Usage Information. Kutubi may automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, Kutubi cookie information, and the page you requested. Kutubi automatically collects usage information, such as the numbers and frequency of users of our Services. This type of aggregate data enables us to figure out how often users use parts of the Services so that we can make our Services appealing to users and improve those Services.
